Each year since 1992, Lincoln Rotary Club 14 proudly presents the Donald W. Miller Math Recognition Award, recognizing an outstanding mathematics educator in the Lincoln area. The club established this award in honor of former member, past club president and Rotary leader Donald W. Miller.

Lincoln Rotary Club 14 recently recognized Alice Hillhouse as the 2025 Miller Math Award recipient. Alice serves as a mathematics and computer instructor at Lincoln High.  In addition to serving as a classroom teacher, Alice serves as department chair and has also served Lincoln Public Schools as a staff development instructor.  Some of the courses Alice teaches or has taught include differentiated precalculus, advanced algebra, geometry, and computer applications.  In many of these courses, Alice has co-taught with special education professionals to support diverse learners and worked with the English Learners department to propel multilingual students to thrive in mathematics.  Alice also teaches at the Bryan College of Nursing and previously at Southeast Community College as a dual credit instructor. Congratulations, Alice, on this award recognition!
