Forest is a senior advisor and assistance and economic team lead in the Bureau of South and Central Asia. Prior to joining the Bureau of South and Central Asia, Forest served in U.S. Embassy Beijing’s Economic Section as the acting internal unit chief and labor officer. She has also completed tours at the U.S. Embassy in Canberra, Australia’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, the American Institute in Taiwan, the U.S. Embassy in London, and the U.S. Consulate General in Mumbai. In Washington D.C., Forest has worked in the Legislative Affairs Bureau, India Office, and Japan Office.
Forest grew up in Los Angeles, California, and earned European history and English literature degrees from Columbia University and Oxford University.

ISSO and Lincoln Rotary Club #14 have had a long-standing relationship for over 15 years. Every fall, Lincoln Rotary Club #14 hosts the International Student Picnic to welcome new international students. The COVID-19 pandemic changed this tradition to a virtual experience. Recognizing the limitations of a video call in creating a sense of community, Rotary Club #14 brainstormed with the universities to further expand the gathering through a mentorship program between Rotary #14 members and international students.
ISSO has worked closely with Rotary Club #14 to create and launch the new mentorship program. More than 20 current and new international students applied to participate in the program. Due to the high amount of applications across participating universities and a limited number of mentors available, 5 students from UNL were chosen for the inaugural launch of the program. Full story
Last week Eric Drumheller presided over the meeting with secretary Morrie Enders. Virtual Meeting Host was Trip Snyder with Virtual Greeter Josh Overocker. Our Program Host Chris Sommerich, introduced speaker Steve Glenn, Chairman of the Board, Executive Travel. President Eric began with personal concerns Jim Mastera - Georgianne is in the hospital and Jim McFarland passed away. Rotary shoutout to Regina Werum and Klaus Hartmann -- Klaus took Regina's son Philip Groeger hunting in mid-November and as a thank you Regina and her husband made a donation to the Club Foundation. Another shoutout to Ben Martens for the International Student Picnic article from UNL. Jay Wexler asked for bell-ringing volunteers and offered three attendance credits each shift. Book honorarium for the week was to Steven Glenn; Johnny Boo and the Midnight Monsters for Elliott donated by Eric Drumheller and to Greta Gessert; Big Nate: Blow the Roof Off! to Hill donated by John Gessert.
