Tom Field, Ph.D. serves the people of Nebraska as the Director of the Engler Agribusiness Entrepreneurship Program and holder of the Engler Chair in Entrepreneurship at the University of Nebraska – Lincoln. An enthusiastic advocate for free enterprise, the potential of young people and opportunities in both agriculture and rural communities, Tom is an internationally recognized educator and innovator who has the ability to connect the dots between people, industries, and ideas. Last week, Nola Derby-Bennett introduced Jim Bennett as our newest member. Jim serves as the Coordinator for TeamMates of Lincoln since the start of the 2018-2019 school year. Jim has spent 25 years working with youth in Lincoln and in Topeka, Kansas and has 14 years with the Lincoln Public Schools. Jim has also served as the statewide Director for Supervision Services for the Administrative Office of Probation – Juvenile Services Division for 5 years prior to his time with TeamMates. Jim has a Bachelors’ degree in Psychology from the University of Nebraska and a Masters’s degree in Counseling from Doane University. Thank you, Nola for sponsoring Jim to Rotary.

Last week, Bill Waddell and Gina Cotton introduced our newest member Rush Storz. C. Rush Storz was born in Sedalia, Missouri. The day that he was born was also his dad’s first day on the job at the Post Office in Lincoln. He attended Norris High School but transferred to Lincoln Southeast to attend Zoo School. Rush earned his Bachelor’s of Science in Biology from Midland University. He worked as a chemist at Pfizer after graduating but decided that it wasn’t for him. He obtained his Juris Doctor and Master of Science at the University of South Dakota where he was a research assistant for Dr. Sean Kammer. After graduating he hung his shingle for a year practicing criminal law. Rush joined Cada, Cada & Jewson in late July as a new associate where he practices in Estate Planning, Creditors Rights, and business law. When he’s not at the office Rush enjoys watching West Virginia football, homebrewing, barbecuing, and attending concerts. Thank you Bill and Gina for sponsoring Rush to Rotary.

Are you interested in getting into the race for perfect attendance? It's easy and highly doable. TIPS: 1) Attend our weekly meetings, 2) If you miss our weekly meeting, watch our Facebook Live Streaming and get a make up credit, 3) Attend a committee meeting, 4) Attend any of our club activities, 5) Watch out for attendance credits that won't expire from our club big events, such as Nebraskan of the Year, Rise.Shine.Give, and Salute to Business, 6) Attend a nearby Rotary Club and get makeup credit, 7) Meet up with 3 or more Rotarians to talk about anything under the heat of the sun for Rotary, 8) Go online and do online makeup.
RI Standard: Every 30 minutes to 1 hour of Rotary work is equivalent to 1 attendance credit. Questions, please contact Allen Beermann.

The Everett Committee have successfully hosted a Thanksgiving meal at our partner school, Everett Elementary School. Consider making your annual donation NOW. Your money comes back to us in three years in the form of Global and District grants to spend on our projects. Your donation goes around the world to promote peace and conflict prevention & resolution, disease prevention and treatment, water and sanitation, maternal and child health, basic education and literacy, and economic and community development. Every Rotarian Every Year asks that you consider a gift of at least $100 to The Rotary Foundation.
If you have never given to TRF, Rotary 14 will match your first $100 to the Foundation, giving you $200 toward your Paul Harris Fellowship (cumulative giving of $1000). If a member initially donates less than $100, Rotary 14 will make the match as soon as the $100 level is reached. For all other club members, the club will match any contribution above the $100 Sustaining Member level per Rotary year (minimum match is $100), but not to exceed $500.
You can also bring a check made out to The Rotary Foundation to our weekly meeting and Yolanda will send it with the contribution form to TRF. Any questions, please contact TRF Chair Scott Larson.
