Tim is a native of Columbus, OH and has been in the sports and entertainment business for roughly 20 years, having first started working in minor league baseball then shifting to venue management. He carries a versatile background having extensive experience in corporate and premium sales, food and beverage, event management, booking, negotiating, client relations, venue operations, and overall venue management.
While working in baseball Tim spent time in Florida, South Carolina, and Texas. He first started his career in venue management at the Iowa Events Center in Des Moines where he was an event manager then later converted to Sales. A growth opportunity took him to Loveland, CO as Assistant GM and Director of Events at Budweiser Events Center, then another growth opportunity took him to Nampa/Boise, ID as General Manager of the Ford Idaho Center. In Idaho Tim led a transition that saw a $1.2 million deficit turn into a $200k profit in just a few years. In 2019 he relocated to Sioux City, IA out of a desire to be closer to family. There he served as General Manager for the Tyson Events Center and Orpheum Theatre where he delivered financial improvement for four straight years and cut the facilities deficit nearly in half through increased sales and bookings.
A long career of movement and growth has helped shape Tim into an experienced and informed leader. Now having the honor to serve as General Manager in Lincoln, NE at Pinnacle Bank Arena and Pinewood Bowl, it is Tim’s goal to be a mainstay for many years to come. “I have spent my entire career learning, listening, and growing; patiently waiting for the right long term fit for my family. Lincoln is that place for us and we couldn’t be more excited to be here, and to put our kids through school here.”
A couple fun facts about Tim, he has been a part of three new naming rights deals, booked over 1,000 events ranging from ten (10) to 12,000 people, and his favorite show to be a part of was Foo Fighters. Hobbies outside of work include golf and attending his kids’ activities. Still in a moving transition Tim looks forward to living in Lincoln with his wife Kara, and their two children Maxton (7) and Brynn (5), as well as their dogs Keegan and Claire.

Planning for Rotary District 5650’s RYLA camp is well underway. Here are five need-to-knows for clubs!
#1. Who, Where and When: We will hold RYLA at Camp Kitaki from November 3-5, 2023. RYLA is designed to help high school sophomores and juniors improve their communication skills, work on problem-solving, and build community.
#2.Identifying and Supporting Student Participants: We are asking clubs to identify student participants. Our goal is to serve 40 students during our RYLA camp in 2023. If your club is unable to identify a student but would still like to provide financial or volunteer support, see #4 and #5.
#3: Student Sign-Ups: Although clubs will identify and select students, all students must complete their own individual registration form with a parent or guardian. We will be circulating that form to clubs soon.
#4: Financial Support: We understand that not every club will be able to select student participants. Your club can still help the RYLA students with financial support. The cost per student participant in 2023 is $300. Club sponsorships also will take place via an online form this year. In addition to indicating your club’s willingness to support student participants, the club sponsorship form will include an option for clubs to help offset specific costs related to running the camp, such as supplies, meals, etc. Keep a look out for that form in the coming weeks.
#5: Volunteer: RYLA depends on Rotary members to help the camp run! This ranges from working with small groups and providing on-site assistance to chaperoning and providing rides to participants to/from camp. If you have club members interested in volunteering, please email us and/or indicate your interest on the club sponsorship form.

These fellow Rotarians provide credence to the value of Club 14’s mission to serve this community and beyond.
