Eric Schafer is the President of Telesis, Inc., a renowned family of companies founded in 1985. With over 400 dedicated employees, Telesis has established itself as a leader in providing innovative customer-driven services, fostering a growth-oriented corporate culture, and actively contributing to the community through civic leadership and environmental stewardship.
Under Eric's leadership, Telesis has expanded its business subsidiaries, which include Empyrean Brewing Company, Lazlo's Brewery & Grill, Data Security, Inc., Telesis Holdings, and Avert Vertical Cultivations. These diverse entities reflect Telesis' commitment to excellence across various industries.
Outside of his professional endeavors, Eric cherishes his family life. He and his wife Renee have been happily married since 2002 and are proud parents to three beautiful children. As they enter the grandparent stage, the family remains a top priority for Eric. Together, they are active members of Sheridan Lutheran Church, where they find spiritual nourishment and a sense of community.
In addition to his family and community involvement, Eric is deeply passionate about martial arts, having dedicated over three decades to its practice. He finds solace and camaraderie in the dojo, where he can unleash his energy while training alongside friends.
Eric's guiding principle in life is encapsulated in his motto, "What can I do to make your day better?" This mindset highlights his commitment to supporting his loved ones, friends, and the broader community. Eric's genuine concern for others and his willingness to go the extra mile truly make him a compassionate advocate.
And when it comes to enjoying a drink, Eric's preference is savoring tequila neat, appreciating its rich flavors and craftsmanship.
Last week at Rotary, we welcomed our new Rotary administration led by President Jess Kinser. The officers and directors were inducted to office by Former Secretary of State Allen Beermann.

Alan Hersch, a dedicated member of Club 14, has actively contributed to the organization for an impressive 33 years. Alan is Paul Harris Fellow. He shares his life with his beloved wife, Donna Hersch, with whom he recently celebrated their momentous 50th wedding anniversary.
After a prosperous and fulfilling career in management, spanning several decades with Black Hills Energy and its predecessor utility companies, Alan made the decision to retire approximately 12 years ago. Since then, he has embraced his newfound freedom by indulging in his passions, which include golfing, fishing, and exploring various destinations to spend quality time with family and friends.
Alan's educational background includes a noteworthy graduation from Rutgers University, where he cultivated intellectual growth. In addition, he holds a Masters degree from the University of Wyoming, further augmenting his professional expertise.
Beyond his involvement with the Rotary Club, Alan has dedicated his time and energy to serving the community. As a volunteer and esteemed Board Chair of Lincoln Junior Achievement, he has impacted countless young individuals' lives. Moreover, he has actively participated as a volunteer and Board member for the non-profit organization "Live Well Go Fish," an admirable initiative that provides therapeutic outdoor recreational opportunities to seniors, youth, veterans, and individuals with special needs.
Additionally, Alan has been a passionate advocate and active supporter of our fundraising initiative, Epic Experience Summer Fishing with Klaus Hartmann, for the annual Rise.Shine.Give. For several years, he has dedicated his time, resources, and expertise to help make this event a resounding success. Alan's unwavering commitment to supporting meaningful causes exemplifies his compassion and generosity.
As Alan and Donna plan to relocate, their commitment to making a difference remains steadfast. Alan intends to extend his involvement by joining the Omaha Suburban Rotary Club, continuing his legacy of service and leadership in the community.

Recently, PDG Art Knox proudly introduced the newest member of Rotary 14, Karla Frese, whose exceptional contributions and dedication to improving the lives of seniors have made her a remarkable addition to the organization. As the Managing Partner at Home Care Partners, Karla is privileged to work alongside healthcare teams and facilities, leaving a lasting positive impact on the lives of individuals with dementia.
Karla's commitment to providing thoughtful, high-quality, and dedicated care stems from her lifelong dedication to senior welfare in the community. As Managing Partner and Social Services Designee at Home Care Partners, she seizes the opportunity to make a significant difference in the lives of families in need of memory care, Parkinson's support, and stroke recovery assistance.
Beyond her responsibilities at Home Care Partners, Karla actively engages in community education as a valuable contributor to the Parkinson's Foundation. She compassionately hosts support groups for individuals affected by Alzheimer's and dementia, volunteers her time with Horison and Tabitha Hospice, and proudly serves as a member of the Heartland Cancer Foundation Guild.

Rotary 14 Club Survey The Project Grants Evaluation Committee (PGE) is responsible for effectively focusing the financial and volunteer resources of the club at the local, district, and international levels, to ensure that those resources align with Rotary International and Rotary 14 priorities. Committee guidelines require PGE to survey the Rotary 14 membership every other year to determine our highest priority areas. R. Gordon R. McInally is president of Rotary International. He was educated at the Royal High School in Edinburgh and at the University of Dundee, where he earned his graduate degree in dental surgery. He operated his own dental practice in Edinburgh until 2016. Gordon was chair of the East of Scotland branch of the British Paedodontic Society and has held various academic positions. He has also served as a presbytery elder, chair of the Queensferry parish congregational board, and commissioner to the general assembly of the Church of Scotland.
