President Erin Dobesh has invited Rotary 14 Club Members to join her for fun and fellowship at "Wine Down Wednesday". Erin will be at Bin105 from 5-6:30 on Wednesday, August 28. ready and eager to meet other Rotarians to discuss club business or share in your personal lives.
Salute to Business
Please be on the lookout for an email that should have arrived in club members' inboxes earlier today that includes a link to vote for this year's Salute to Business award recipient. The committee has nominated four businesses. The voting will end on Monday, September 2 at 12pm.
Volunteer:  International Student Picnic
It's been a long-standing tradition for Rotary 14 to host a picnic for collegiate students in our community. This year’s picnic will take place Sunday, September 8, 2024, at 2:30 p.m. at Holmes Lake.

Here you’ll find a list of items we hope to have donated to help make the event a success. Additionally, we’re looking for volunteers to assist with setup or clean up. Or, if you have a spare gift card lying around that you'd like to donate, we’ll take that, too! Every little bit helps.

Our greatest needs include:
  • Cases of Water
  • Use of a Cooler with Ice
  • Desserts (non-meltable)
  • Give away prizes for students (Lincoln swag, gift cards, university clothing, gift baskets etc.)
  • Food (Vegetarian and vegan options)
  • Help with setup from 1:30-2:30 p.m.
  • Help with cleanup from 5-6 p.m.
This year we're providing three options to help make it easier to donate:
  • Deliver items to a Rotary meeting (on or before September 3rd )
  • Deliver to Holmes Lake on the day of the picnic
  • Request a pick up (We will come to you and get the donation. You’ll be contacted after submitting.)
This is an event that has welcomed many international students and many look forward to. Register to volunteer here: Volunteer for the 2024 International Student Picnic

Passing of a Great Rotarian
It is with great sadness that we announce the loss of Dr. Bruce Rippeteau, fellow friend and Rotarian. He joined Rotary in 1993, but became a member of Club 14 in 2008. Bruce's integrity and leadership, and passion for service led him to be well-cherished within our community. Our thoughts are with his family.

Note of Gratitude from Allen Beermann
In response to the "fine" Fred Ohles assessed to Allen Beermann for his nearly quarter century of service as Nebraska's Secretary of State, and his appearance as the "centerfold" answer in a recent crossword puzzle published in the Lincoln Journal Star, Rotarians responded with over $200 in quarters and paper money to cover the "fine".  Allen wishes to thank the Rotarians that contributed. He is very grateful and the gesture touched his heart deeply.  All "fines" go to our Lincoln Rotary Club 14 Foundation to support club projects and build for the future.  Thank you!
