PolioPlus
Campaign Update
We have made tremendous progress in our effort to raise
$60,000 Plus as our part of the worldwide Rotary International effort to
eradicate Polio. We are
now over $50,000 in commitments from Rotary Club #14 members
and, to those of you who have made a commitment, we appreciate your support
very much! We
have also had a wonderful response from the presentations made
by members about their personal memories of polio in America. Bill Palmer
and Todd Hall have
provided meaningful background through their perspectives of
what happened in the polio epidemic in our country and I deeply appreciate
all the kind comments
and support I have received about my experiences with my friend
Doug Martin. The story about Doug's battle with polio can now be read on
the Lincoln Journal
Star Website.
We are closing in on success and we will be
inviting everyone to make a commitment in their
support of the program next week at our Tuesday
meeting. We will also be making an attempt to
contact everyone who can't attend Tuesday's meeting
during two club member call nights on Tuesday
the 8th of July and Wednesday the 9th of July.
We deeply appreciate your support and consideration
of this very important program in the 100 year
history of Rotary International. Please consider
a gift of $600 or more and become a member of
the 7500Plus Club. A commitment of $600 will
enable us to protect 7500 children around the
world from this dreaded disease. Please make
your pledge next week. Thank you!
