Description: On February 21, Christyne J. (“CJ”) Vachon will share a discussion and slide show of her trip to Pakistan just over a year ago. It is a place very unknown to many Americans, and she would like to share some part of Pakistan so that it is less unfamiliar to us all. She was there to follow through on Rotary and other non-profit work with which she has been involved. She went to witness the improvements to rural schools and access for girls to education accomplished through money raised by Rotarians, to give out kitchen-repair kits created using funds raised by Rotarians in response to the flood damage in Pakistan, and to meet two very remarkable Afghan women who were receiving health care education through a non-profit that CJ helped to found.
