Clay Naff, “Life in the Third Great Age of Discovery”

Tuesday, January 24, 2012 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
Description: Clay Naff, director of Lincoln Literacy, moonlights as a science journalist, and from that perspective he brings us a survey of the amazing discoveries of our time. Although the ancients and our more recent forebears made great discoveries, there is nothing to compare with the present, he argues. From the tiniest to the largest objects imaginable and everything in between, including of course life itself, we live at a very special time.

A former UPI correspondent and NPR reporter, an award-winning science journalist and author, Clay has written or edited more than a dozen science books for young people. As a freelance writer in his spare time from Lincoln Literacy, he has written for various publications, including most recently Earth magazine, The Humanist, and Scientific American. He also hosts a weekly radio program called Science Odyssey on KZUM 89.3 FM.
